Victorian women get a glimspe at the future of the Hudson River Valley. Once the choice resort of New York City's wealthy and crown jewel of Hudson River School painters, it now faces the threat of pollution and land gouging by Swiss-owned St. Laurent Cement. Shot on-site just 120 miles from New York City and 30 miles away from Albany, this short video comments on the encroachment of urban needs and its effects on both the environment and individual's health.

about the artists

Heather Elliott-Famularo and Murray McKay began collaborating while pursuing their MFA degrees at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago from 1997-99. In 2004 they were awarded the Catwalk Artist Residency in the Hudson River Valley of New York state where they began collaborating full-time.
Working conceptually, they are passionate in exploring social issues including gender identity, politics, and environmentalism and are committed to experimenting with a variety of media to communicate their ideas to and interact with the public. Elliott-Famularo and McKay realize their research-based artworks in many forms including performance, video, digital art, installation, and public art, that utilize theatrical elements of movement, masks, sound, lighting, and costume design.

Heather Elliott-Famularo is an Assistant Professor of Digital Arts at Bowling Green State University. As the SIGGRAPH 2004 Emerging Technologies Chair, Elliott-Famularo organized and designed an exhibition of 30 ground-breaking interactive installations of both technology and fine art.

Murray McKay travels extensively as an Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions for The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
