cell phone >>text + photo messaging
1. sign up
Before you can receive information and alerts, you will need to register your cell phone number at txtmob.com. First click either "login" (secure or standard). If you are already a member, sign in and go on to step 2. If you have not registered yet, pick a username and hit "go." Fill out the password + email form and continue. Next, register your phone number by clicking "add phone." Type in your phone number + select your cell phone service provider, then click submit. In a few seconds, you will receive a text message on your cell phone with a confirmation number. Type that number into the box, and you will be all set and ready to subscribe to the Provflux list.
2. join "provflux"
Once you are logged in and your cell phone registered, click on "join more groups." Scroll down about halfway until you see "provflux" in the public lists. Click the box next to it to select the group. (note: do NOT click "Provflux2005"! That is last year's account and we will not be using it this year). Once you've selected that (and any other groups that look interesting), scroll down to the bottom and click "submit."
Congratulations! You are now ready to use text + photo messaging to keep up with Provflux 2006.
3. send + receive
Messages that other participants send will be received by your phone automatically; an alert will sound when this occurs. You are also encouraged to send your own updates about the events as they take place. To do this, send your text messages to provflux@txtmob.com.

Provflux's event schedule online: www.pipsworks.com/provflux2006/pf06_schedule.html. This will be updated daily, but all events are subject to change at a moment's notice. We will be doing our best to keep this schedule as accurate as possible during the weekend.

Our stationary information+meet up center, the Steel Yard Action Hub, is located at 27 Sims Ave in Providence, RI. It will be open from June 1-4, from 10a-6p every day. There will be maps, bulletin boards, internet access, and a real live person who can inform you as to what's happening right then.
Our mobile information center, MURL, will travel to various locations to relay up-to-date information about Provflux events to people across the city. It will also house a nomadic public library, featuring resource books, internet access, and a reading room.
